Through the deployments of Vess Orange, Vess Black and Vess Blue together with the entire Vess family of products, security professionals can build their own surveillance system for projects of any size.
Customizable Interfaces and Graphics
The Vess A6120 is customizable so it can perform a variety of functions based on your needs. Use the available PCI or PCM cards to create the mix of data and network connections to suit your applications. Promise does provide a recommended set of HBAs and add-in cards for customers to choose from, including 1G Base-T, 10G Base-T, 10G SPF+, SAS expansion, extension RAID boards as well as graphic cards.
Embedded SmartBoost Technologies
A6120 is equipped with Promise's SmartBoost Technologies to optimize the system performance while playing back and writing surveillance video to the system. SmartBoost Technologies include:
- Sequential Pattern Recording - increase and stabilize recording performance
- Predictive Playback - better playback performance
- Non-Stop Service - non-stop video surveillance services
The Vess A6120 series is designed as building blocks for the deployment of a video surveillance system. Vess A-Series NVR appliances are open platform solutions that can be deployed with any of the leading IP cameras, video management software (VMS) and central management software (CMS) for installations of any size. Reliable and easy to set up, Vess A6120 is the ideal server appliance for establishing a complete surveillance system.
Vess A6120 are 1U 4-bay rackmount solutions offering easy expandability through Promise external storage units. They are perfect for up to 60 IP cameras without extra storage, and with larger scale-out storage Vess A6120 can support up to 200 cameras.
There are three main specifications for the Vess A6120 series that can be deployed based on the needs of your project:
- Vess Black (A6120-MS) - designed for managing the whole surveillance system
- Vess Orange (A6120-AS) - designed for running intelligent video analytics
- Vess Blue (A6120-RS) - designed for general recording purpose

Vess Black
Vess Black is equipped with 1 Intel Xeon® E5-2620 v4 CPU plus 8GB RAM (expandable to 128GB). It is the best choice for running CMS and managing the whole surveillance system.
Vess Orange
Vess Orange is equipped with 2 Intel Xeon® E5-2620 v4 CPUs plus 16GB RAM (expandable to 128GB). It is suitable for analyzing huge amounts of video data.
Vess Blue
Vess Blue is available with 1 Intel Xeon® E5-2603 v4 CPU plus 8GB RAM (expandable up to 128GB). It meets the demands for a recording server inside the whole system.
